Sourcing and quality

What we check before a product goes on sale, and what we will always tell you.

Before anything goes on sale

VITOD is preparing its first products. Before any of them is offered for sale, we intend to confirm, for that specific product:

  • the complete ingredient list and any allergens, including risks of cross-contamination declared by the producer;
  • nutrition information for the finished product;
  • the country of origin of the fruit, where it is required or would be useful to know;
  • the drying method used;
  • storage guidance and how the best before date is shown on the pack;
  • the food business responsible for the product and how batches can be traced.

Where we make a claim about a product, such as how it fits a particular diet, we will hold evidence for that product and check the claim meets UK rules before using it.

What every product page will tell you

Food information is shown on each product page before you add anything to your bag.

  • Full ingredients

    The complete ingredient list, with any allergens emphasised.

  • Allergen information

    Where the fruit comes from, wherever origin information is required or helpful.

  • Storage

    How to store the product, and where to find the best before date.

  • Traceability

    The business responsible for the food, and how batches are identified.

Questions about quality

Is all VITOD fruit freeze-dried?

Yes. Every fruit in the VITOD range is freeze-dried, and each product page confirms the method and the storage guidance for that product.

Do you make the products yourselves?

Not at present. Our products will come from specialist producers and suppliers, and each product page will name the business responsible for the food.

Where does the fruit come from?

It depends on the fruit. The origin is shown on each product page wherever it is required or useful.
